Faith smashes Depression

Depression is like a mental cloud over our brain. Fog or funk don’t want to get out of bed or do the things we used to love to do.

Dark cloud over our life.

Could be in a form of discouragement, troubled, Miserable, brokenhearted.

All Depression stems from a deeper root.

Abuse: Physically- Emotionally - Sexually

Genetics- Family members with mental illness (see a doctor)

Major life Events- Graduation, move, married...

Substance Abuse - Most people are depressed and turn to this some get depressed after.

Approval addiction- We will always stay depressed if we are depending on someone else for our happiness

People will always let you down and disappoint you and they might not know they even hurt you. So you can’t let people dictate weather you will be happy or depressed

Choice is yours....... Happy or Depressed

Stop focusing on what we have lost or what we don’t have or what has been taken from us.

Stop looking at the crap that has happen to us and really focus on the positives

Look at your circumstance and realize it is not as bad as it seems and life could always be worse.

Enjoy our life where we are at. Stop wait waiting on something to come in our life to make us happy because you will always find negative in your life.

The Antidote for Depression is Faith!

2 Corinthians 5:7 Live by Faith not by site

Faith is the substance of things hoped for , the evidence of things not seen.

If we always live our life looking at the negative and the news we will always feel hopeless and depressed

We have to rest in Faith 

You have to know that all things are working out for good!!!

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Your life may look like a train wreck but we can’t see the big picture but in the future you will look back and say God had his print all over that and his hand was molding and shaping my life perfectly the way He had planned

Believe in the craziest things you can’t see:

Believe you can be happy

Believe you can overcome depression

Believe your life can be different

Believe your past doesn’t have to dictate your future

Hebrew 3:19 So we see that they were not allowed to enter his rest because of their unbelief.

If we don’t believe our circumstance can be better we will never have rest or peace.

Depressed people their minds never rest. They are constantly pitting their situation instead of seeking Faith in Jesus

Instead of letting our circumstance overwhelm us we should let God’s goodness overwhelm us because He is a good God.

Psalms 100:5 For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all the generations.

Jeremiah 29:11 He has a plan an a purpose for our lives

God is our hope when we are troubled

Psalms 31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that hope in the LORD

Deuteronomy 31:8  DO NOT BE AFRAID AND DO NOT BE DISCOURAGE

Figure out what our problem really is and the true cause of our trouble and then have the faith that Jesus can change it and you can have a new life!! 

Colossians 3:1&2 Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights of the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, no the things of earth

Joy comes in the morning!!! 

Psalms 30:5  for his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may last through the night but joy comes in the morning!!!

Receive the life God has for you the Choice is yours!! 

Do you want to have FAITH IN POSITIVE OR FAITH IN THE NEGATIVE?? I WOULD CHOOSE THE FIRST ONE!!!

Hope for the Hopeless

Hope- is a feeling of expectations and desire for a certain thing to happen

We all want to have hope in common areas.

Hope for Peace

Hope to be loved

Hope to be worthy

Hope to be beautiful

*God is the peace dealer

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

*God is Love

1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love

*God says your worthy

We are so worthy that Jesus laid down his life for us

*God makes all things Beautiful

Ecclesiastes 3:11 God has made everything beautiful for its own time.....

If we really wanted those things we would see God to get them, but often we want to continue in our sin and pity and still want the results only God can give.

It doesn’t work that way.

Matthew 6:33 seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

If you seek God you will receive more than you could ever dream that you deserve!!

We have to stop letting Satan control our lives..

James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Stop agreeing with Satan that you are no good and have no hope!

If you woke up breathing this morning then you have hope.

You are worthy of God salvation.

Titus 3:5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we have done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the holy spirit

There is hope for you....the girl....

*who got knocked up either on purpose or not

*who cheated on her husband

*who played around with the idea of other girls

*who is going through a divorce

*who gets beat by her spouse

*who was abandoned by her parents

*who had an abortion

*who is scared in her bed at night because of who is going to come in and violate her innocents because it has happen before.

GRACE IS ENOUGH- no matter where we have been or what has happen to us

2 corinthians 12:9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness”...

Acts 10:34, 35 then Peter replied, “ I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right

Matthew 9:12 When Jesus heard this, he said, “healthy people don’t need a doctor sick people do”

Jesus was saying that to the Religious people who thought they had it all together they where asking why Jesus was hanging out with scums and that's what he said to them in Matthew 9:12

The church is for the hurting and the sick, for the one who has no one to trust, the one who has broken everyone trust, thief, murderer and every other person on this earth!! Jesus came to set the captives free!!

After you change your life you are going to lead other people to the good news!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life

New Beginning

You can have a new beginning, a fresh start! 

2 Corinthians 5:17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun.

No matter where you have been or what you have done.

God wants to adopt you in His family

Ephesians1:4&5 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ...

Our lives can get stained up by our choices we make and the choices others make against me, no matter how deep the stains of your sins are God can wash it white as snow

Psalms 51:7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean, wash me and I will be whiter than snow.

Isaiah 1:18 .... Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool

He will give you Beauty for Ashes

Isaiah 61:3 To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own Glory

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up

God forgives us of our sins as far as the East is from the west

psalms 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us

Satan tries to deceive us by getting us to  believe something that is simply not true! He wants us to believe the exact opposite of what God tells us is true!

The things you think in your head and heart is who you become!!

NIV Where there is  revelations, people cast off restraint, but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instructions.

Sexual sin is the most slippery, because it comes to us so subtly and so sneaky we don’t think anything of the small steps in to an affair or becoming sexually active!

James 4:17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin

Romans 12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good

The little innocent things we do can turn in to things we never thought we would do or become and in the middle of doing them we will justify it somehow to make it the right thing to do!!! What does God’s word tell you about it, and actually I would get a great Christian friend to seek the Word on a subject you are dealing with and then accept what they give you as the truth. Because sometimes we are so blinded His word will say what we want it to say!!

When you are wanting your life to be better surround your self with the right people to help you see the real truth in what you are going through. Stop pushing the people away that are trying to speak truth to you. Its not that they are judging you its helping you identify the lies your believing. 99 percent of the time that person trying to speak truth into your life has prob walk that path and it lead to destruction in their own life!!

Identity who are you??

Romans 10:9-10 Salvation scripture

John 3:16 This is what God did just for you!

If you don't know who's you are or what God has done for you, you won't change. You will be who everyone tells you to be or become something you never thought you would become. 

You don't dream of being a prostitute, stripper, drug addict, alcoholic, absent parent, divorced, convict....and etc.... But if we don't know our value we will make choices that will lead us into these lifestyles!

If your not headed somewhere on purpose you will fall for anything!

don't try to be something your not, thats when you lose who you are and make choices that you don't want to make!

If your identity comes from your parents, church, school, or what has happen to you in the past, abuse, choices? you will always stay that person you don't want to me!! You have to want to change your life for yourself not to please anyone or to do what you thing everyone wants you to do! Your Identity has to come from God's word and thats when true transformation happens. You have to have a surrendered moment to God and Him alone!!!

Psalms 139:13-16 For you created my innermost being: you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when i was made in the secret place. When i was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my informed body. all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be!

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD," Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future

We don't have to listen to what the voices in our head says, we can have God's voice cheering us on and not tearing us down! The battle is in our mind and we have to get a grip on it and when untruth things come in it we got to remember what God says an that He won the battle, we just have to get in the Word and see what the truth really is!! Its the truth that sets us free!!!

2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every though to make it obedient to christ!!

Phillippians4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens  me!!! 

Thats the voice we listen to!!!

Obedient

seek God

read His word

die to ourselves

say no to our flesh

Transformation Tuesday #1

Transformation Tuesday #1

I want to change my life but I don’t know how is what I hear from so many people so God laid it on my heart to do a video blog series on the journey of transformation. I am not a very good writer but I am going to try to write it out so yall can have the scripture and stuff to look back at!!

Romans 7:15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.

This was my year after detoxing off of Meth, I would go on 4 different meth benges  that year and hate my self for falling back into the trap. This showed me I was not going to change with out help and thats what God sent me is people to come around me to help me begin my transformation and that is what I want to do for you! 

First: you have to Love the Lord with all your heart mind and soul, our flesh is to weak to do what is right only with Jesus can we become truely transformed! 

Matthew 22:37 Jesus replied:”Love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Matthew 26:41 says.... the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

John 15:5 “ I am the vine: you are the branches, If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing

Fruit is: Love, joy, peace,patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness

Second: Stop being Selfish

If your life is just about you and what you can gain, you will alway remain the same.

Philippians 2:3 Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count other more significant than yourself

James 3:16 For whereever there is jealousy and selfish ambitions, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind

Don’t just want your life to change in the bad times!!

You will always be defeated until you want to become a better person for the right motives! Do you want your life to change so you can be happy or do you want your life to change so you can help change the world!

Third: Forgive the ones who hurt you

If you are not forgiving people in your past you are sipping on poison and hoping they will get sick and in the process its going to kill you!!

Hurting people hurt people so you have to understand these people would have never hurt you if someone wouldn’t have hurt them same goes for that you will continue the cycle unless you forgive them and heal yourself so you won’t make the same mistakes and do to someone else what hurt you so bad!!

Quit wallowing in your past and go into the future and don’t let another day be taken from you by focusing on the hurt of your past!!! You can have a brand new start Right Now you just have to want it!!!

Your in control of your future not the people around you!!
